I had my first reflex camera, a Canon AE-1 when I was 15 years old and then, I dreamt to take pictures like the ones I used to see in the National Geaographic.
At that time, I wanted to become a merchant marine, like my father. However, the life in the ships was not for me as I could learn after spending my summer holidays sailing in cargo ships. Therefore, I started studying geology since I could do it together with main hobbies: photography and hiking in the mountains.
I quit early from University changing my boots and binoculars by my suits, ties, Business English and Foreign Trade courses. I first worked in my father’s shipbroking company, chartering ships, and later in different coal trading and distrubution companies.
For more than thirty years, I was chartering vessels, buying and selling coal, and always taking pictures, traveling and hiking.
